Australia has the TAC (Transport Accident Commission) which has a compulsory insurance premium bundled with the car registration.
Whenever you have an accident (at fault or not), you are entitled/required to sue the government (department) to receive compensation.
It’s kind of like compulsory 3rd part insurance as required in the U.S. except it’s administered by the government on behalf of the welfare of the citizens.
Australia is pseudo socialist in comparison to America, as the government doesn’t tend to tell the constituents to get fucked and fend for themselves.
