Based on those comparisons (not going to dispute, I’m no expert on the numbers), would you be comfortable knowing your country doesn’t manufacture cars and you turn to imports, or would you hope to continue manufacturing cars with a better business model, and compete with imports? That seems to be the choice America has to make. The bailout choice seems to be on the table too, but it doesn’t seem to fix anything other than keeping people employed and keeping the status quo. Hasn’t the American auto industry been bailed out before?
