As the head of sales and marketing, I’d be curious about her opinion on Nintendo’s game announcement policy. I hate the fact they are basically not giving long term game forecasts anymore, we learn about games as they are close to release. She might have some insight as to why Nintendo is moving in that […]

Nintendo has never been fair to third party developers. They’ve gotten better, but still have a ways to go. The motionplus thing wasn’t really the best move on Nintendo’s part, but it’s not that big of a deal. Not like previous issues that really affected every game on the console - The lack of storage […]

The thing I’m most pissed about is them not letting 3rd party companies in on their Motion+ attachment. The Force Unleashed and the Clone Wars - Lightsaber Duels almost undoubtedly could have had greater lightsaber functionality if Nintendo had let them work with the Motion+ attachment. What were they thinking?
And although it hasn’t […]

Half the charm of the NES was getting the game to load. I so want the loading screen to Double Dragon to be my ringtone (haven’t found it for free yet and don’t have a proper mp3 to drop it to my iPhone). Today, being a hardcore gamer comes down to your achievements/trophies […]

Wii sports is a really good game but shallow? I wouldn’t use any of those words to describe it… it’s basically a tech demo included with the console so people can see what it’s all about, and so they aren’t “forced” to spend another $50 for a game when they buy the console.
Although ports like […]

Besides… even the newest video cards cannot yield you proper frame rates on available […]

Xenophobia comes from Greek. xenos means stranger and phobos means fear. The classic definition of xenophobia is fear or contempt of foreigners. You are suggesting the creators of the game made it in response to their fear or contempt of foreigners who are tied directly to the bible say…western culture? The characters in this game […]

I’m surprised the Gaming Historian is not more popular. I just recently heard of his work, but it is all top notch. I really look forward to what he is going to do in the future.I’m surprised the Gaming Historian is not more popular. I just recently heard of his work, but it is all […]

Hi, Gaming Historian here.
Just to clear things up a bit. This was my first episode. I know the audio is terrible, I know the intro is way too long, and yeah it probably didn’t need a review at the end. I have little money for equipment and have no past experience making videos. But it […]

Originally, when Nintendo was porting the Famicom to the US, they wanted to make it look less like a toy and more like a serious piece of entertainment equipment. So, they made it more like a VCR. Bigger, boxier, and slot-loading. All superficial.
Meanwhile, the original Famicom was much closer to the size of […]
