Vinyl distorts the entire frequency spectrum in a horrible anharmonic fashion.
And the “compression” on a CD is cut off at a Nyquist frequency of like around 22kHz. Humans can’t hear that.
The mechanical noise of a record alone swamps anything a CD cuts off. CD’s don’t have mechanical noise.
I could go on and on and on.
Any […]

If you rely so heavily on copy/paste, it doesn’t sound like you’re working too hard. Oh, and seriously that “some people work for a living” argument is crap. Construction workers likely work harder than you and don’t need copy/paste on their god damn phone (necessarily, I understand there might be exceptions, don’t reply - because […]

Oddly if I do a search for XBMC and Torrent I find plenty of sites that do not call for an IRC hunt to get into it. Installing on XBOX is like installing new - except you CAN move over the data files and not have to rescan media. On Linux it’s all pretty much […]

Ugh, LogMeIn decided to classify educational/institutional use as Commercial use, so I called their sales rep, and the rep told me to pirate the software!!! No joke–at first she told me that edu use was non-commercial, but I suggested she read her company’s new license policy. She then suggested that it was all honor […]

You need to actually go drive a C6 Vette - esp a Z06. The C6 corvette is shorted then a 911. A standard C6 is about as fast as a 911 4S on a track. The Z06 in terms of performance is faster then a F430, and a little faster then a 911 TT on […]

Too blinged up for my taste, but the regular z06 is the affordable super car some of you guys are bitching about. The moron who is complaining up top about push rods doesnt understand that the most beautiful engineering is what accomplishes its goal in the most non-complex, simple fashion. There is no reason to […]

(Repeat post, but it really belongs here.)
For the record, this upgrade had a very discernible impact on my reception: it got much worse. And I’m not one of those iPhone hypochondriacs who sees what he wants to see. Immediately after the upgrade, I could barely access websites via 3g–the load times were horrendous, and the […]

“and if they didn’t compress my audio, and I couldn’t hear a damn thing until the guitarist broke 30 strings for a hard chucking part of their riff.”
That is horseshit. How, exactly, did we enjoy music in our cars before it was all destroyed by dynamic compression from the late ’90s on? Seems […]
