He preaches to the choir
He preaches to the choir. The conservative guests he has on are usually either so inarticulate as to be easy targets, or can’t get a word in edgewise around Stewart’s points and audience reactions. The truly powerful people he has on (e.g. Cheney’s wife), he tiptoes around and barely makes any of the kinds of (correct, deserved) slams that people make against the government all the time.
He’s still a comedian. A very good one, who points out a lot of things wrong with the country and the media. But he’s no journalist, and couldn’t be if he tried.
