I am Spanish I want to say 3 things:
1) They don’t do this in a racist way. The thought that they was doing something “affectionate” (Was the idea of the photographer). I see this that, we feel China like our home, we are like chineesse people.
2) I don’t think that this is racism. If anyone feel that this is provocative is because he/she feels bad with his/her eyes. I don’t think that they feel bad with their eyes. It is something cultural, like when somebody make jokes about bullfighting, paella or sevillanas (typical spanish topics).
3) Stop with this political correctness fullshit. I am studing now in United States and I think you guys aren’t the country most indicated to talk about racism exclusion (specially with balc, buyk people, who has the worse jobs and are always the most porr comunity). USA removed Chinesse rights in the past, pursued Japanish people and so on.
I think, ok, that they should not do this. But pelase, Stop this atack against Spain. We are no racists (there are always racists in every place you go), don’t generalize.
