I feel damn sorry for people who have to fly with US Air or United. I hate flying in the States these days. It was bad enough trying to change my flights…. after 45 minutes of waiting between comments about what can or cannot be done on an around-the-world ticket United said that there must have been a mistake made by the person who issued the ticket and that I owed another $200+ dollars and the original person would need to make any changes. Nonsense! My US Air flight from Madrid to Philly boarded us on time, then the assistant pilot announced that the Captain wasn’t on board yet, so we waited another half hour for him. When he arrived he announced that he would commence making safety checks and that in another half hour we would taxi out!!! Forget about a meal when you’re flying across the States, just purchase some crappy snacks. I couldn’t wait to be back on Air New Zealand or Air Singapore after these experiences!
