I find it very difficult to believe in a conspiracy. Its not that I wouldn’t trust GWB to do it. It also would not be the 1st time in History that a terrorist act was staged to allow for a massive extension of executive powers and to fuel an increase in number of military campaigns abroad.(see Reichsbrand (burning of the german parliament building and the following enabling acts and the rises of the Nazi party)
Where I have a problem understanding is that the US federal government tends not to be the brightest of organization. My second point would be how have they kept it a secret when almost everything else associated with politics leaks?
So we are asked to believe that an organization that barely would be able to arrange syphilis in a brothel suddenly pulled itself together and organized the an enormous conspiracy. This conspiracy which involves a cast of thousands executed the plan over a number of years. No one who was in on the plan leaked any information neither before the terrorist act nor in the heat of 9/11 nor while watching the death count in Afghanistan and Iraq increase.
