“I truly believe that there also is another part of existence that complements science.”

This is exactly what defines someone as idiotic. Science is not something “separate” from anything. Science is a method used to define the universe so that we can better understand it. We can then use that information to solve our problems and enhance our experiences. Science can be used to understand anything that exists and that includes mankind, his brain and his consciousness.

Your belief in a God, which is based on a book that people wrote and propagated by people you trust, is simply a manufactured fairy tale designed to help people like you cope with a seemingly nonsensical world. The worst part about Christianity is that it doesn’t help you deal with who you really are, it merely tries to placate and confuse you through fear (hell) and desire (heaven). Here’s a quote from a discussion I once had -

“If you are a good person, you have no fear of hell. If you are a good person, you have no desire for heaven. So then, what reason does a good person have to believe in a Christian God? This is why the bible tells you that you are not good and that you are a sinner. You can only be “saved” by accepting God (Jesus) as your savior.

Why do you want to be saved to begin with? Once you are saved, do you then become a good person? Just remember that God loves you (even though he made you a sinner and threatened you with eternal damnation if you didn’t accept him as your savior so you can do his work, which has all been conveniently laid out in a nice book for you to read.)

Religion is of no use to anyone that truly wishes to do good. It is only there to placate the selfish masses.”
