I used to know a guy who worked as a political operative for a Georgia (US) politician. He told me that most of these marriages in Washington were “arranged.” Pretty much the way the royalty used to use marriage to create alliances, or a board will take on an executive.

I could give two cents, about who is screwing who in Washington, as long as it isn’t kids or the American public. When McCain sleeps with a lobbyist — he is also screwing us and that is an issue. And when the chief guy in his campaign staff, is a hired foreign agent — and notably for the country of Georgia, and is giving him his talking points. Well, that is a security risk on top of everything else wrong with it.
