I’m not even sure if Cheney is considered a member of the executive branch of the government anymore. Once they figure out his job title/description then they should file appropriate charges. That said, this case probably doesn’t hold any water because A.) I am pretty sure these guys aren’t allowed to pick out their own investment portfolio once in office, and B.) it was a mutual fund, and I am sure that private prisons are just one of a hundred fascist-oriented sectors of the market included in that particular fund. It is probably heavily diluted with the likes of Blackwater, Haliburton, Exxon, and the like. So, no conflict of interest there. Gonzalez shouldn’t be hard to convict in any proceedings provided that a prosecutor only has to prove the man can in fact recall anything that has happened in the last 3 years. Do to his recent performance and congressional testimony this is open to debate.
