It’s really not that liberal. I’ll give you a slight left lean, perhaps, but if anything, the show just mocks absurdity in politics and the media. Just because the current administration is Republican, its easy to write off The Daily Show as liberal, since most of the absurdity in politics comes from the Bush Administration, making it a huge target for satire. This hasn’t stopped Jon from mocking Obama during recent times, or the Clinton Administration years ago. I guarantee you, if Obama is elected president, The Daily Show will point out every hypocritical, absurd statement and policy they create just like they did for Bush.
