Lest you forget, U2 is still one of the most popular bands in the world with millions of fans. These guys have people following them around everywhere you go and there are PLENTY of them who were VERY aware that this album was coming out. The fact that someone was outside Bono’s house with a recording device is not hard to imagine at all. Also, the fact that Bono was playing the album loudly really shouldn’t be a surprise. Anyone who’s ever tracked an album is going to want to hear the mixes played back in a variety of settings. It’s not like they walk into the studio, play their instruments and then an album pops out.
