Let’s be even more factual shall we.
It was from the beginning of our country the true Christians that started and manned every single social reform movement. The ill treatment of the indians was opposed by many. Our 2nd president , a devout believer, tried to end slavery during the constitutional convention. Christians were most of the personnel in these and every other movement to free the oppressed. Child labor, early women rights etc etc.
What we can’t get behind is setting people ‘free’ to do evil. To contradict GOD’s word. No real Christian will ever support anything that helps or encourages homosexuality. Aside from the solid science in every field proving it’s destructiveness to peoples minds and bodies, we have it specifically pointed out as wrong by GOD. Either of these alone is all any real Christian needs to know where he is to stand on it.
What many of you lefties fail to see is that our defense of the unborn, our refusal to seek out for persecution sinners are absolutely the same as those historical examples. We can call sin as GOD says it is sin, but we do not have the right to force you to be different. We do not have to do anything to make it easier for you. And we can insist it be kept away from us too. And we are required to pray for all the lost and try to show them love. Those “GOD hates fags” people are not real Christians or they are very very deep in sin.
Many atrocities have been committed in the name of the Christian GOD. And to blame HIM is as silly.

Humans always look for ways to give themselves power and what better way than to say ‘Gott mit uns’ as Hitler did… while he killed 10 million Christians including thousands of pastors who spoke out against him publicly when he was gaining power. Read history deeply and you will see that every place the true teaching of CHRIST were employed the people became more and more free and spread the freedom and wealth they received.
