Linux is great for servers. For the desktop it works great as long as you’re not a gamer. If you grew up with the command line with MS-DOS etc it isn’t that big a deal to use. I prefer using command line over GUI for speed. I remember when Windows 3.0 came out and I thought “this is a program for stupid people to use the computer.” when I was 12. If you’re a coding, scripting, I will argue why Python is better than this type of person.. then Linux is for you. If you are into info security then Linux is for you. If you have NO MONEY and need FREE stuff to develop your future multi-billion dollar mega dot com corporation like Sergey Brin and Larry Page.. Linux might be for you. I could go on about my girlfriend’s kids using Linux easily but to my chagrin preferring Windows. But it would only show what everyone knows. If Linux is hard for you then you are probably not a computer professional and shouldn’t worry about it. It’s not the Lisp of OS’s. Chuck Norris patched his windows box with his fist and ended up with Ubuntu. So you never know unless you try.
