Michael, wonder no more!!! The NEA’s primary function is to safe guard the jobs of the teachers and the unions at the expense of anyone who stumbles into their path, including, but not limited to students, parents, private schools, community organizations, churches or other houses of worship and such.

The issue here is not education, the issue here is control. A homeschooled student costs the State nothing because all the expense is handled by the parents. You would think that the taxpayers of California would rise up and endorse homeschooling with open arms because ultimately, it would reduce the amount of the school budgets and actually free up more resources for the local districts since they aren’t handling as many students. Case in point… in our municipality, it was pointed out Wednesday night that our city of 82,000+ actually acquired nineteen (19) additional employees following a hiring freeze last year, most of those were in the Public Works Department. HOWEVER, the BOE added ninety two (92) new employees. Approximately 56% of our entire City budget goes to the BOE, and they are asking for a 4.9% increase. Can we all say BLOATED????
