Saw an AD for Circuit City, Aspire One $379.
Went to the store. “Where’s the display to check it out?”
Employee: “We don’t have a display model, it would get stolen.”
Me: “How they hell you expect to sell any of these if people can’t even touch them?”
Employee: “emmmm, errrrrr,”
So I am sure Circuit City will write off these Aspire Ones as a failure, because they are TOO FUCKING DUMB TO PUT THEM ON DISPLAY. As a result the Aspire One will probably get a bad rap as a failure.
But if you look for Store Availability you will see the online is sold out, and probably sold out in a store location near you.
As for keeping things stock, i have decided to leave the default OS with all the tweaked drivers so I will get the best power consumption. However I will unlock the power of the Fedora desktop underneath it all. For details check out www.aspireoneuser.com.
