Nintendo has never been fair to third party developers

Nintendo has never been fair to third party developers. They’ve gotten better, but still have a ways to go. The motionplus thing wasn’t really the best move on Nintendo’s part, but it’s not that big of a deal. Not like previous issues that really affected every game on the console - The lack of storage space on the 64 carts and GCN disks, the price of the N64 carts, the nightmarish approval system back in the days of the NES, etc.

I think the virtual console itself is a bigger problem than the relatively late announcement of the motionplus. Nintendo has placed a ton of limitations on developers with it, and it’s not very profitable (low risk low profit). Nintendo subsidizes most of the cost of putting the game on there, and in return they get the vast majority of the profits. This is why we see so few games from companies like Square on there. I’d rather them fix THAT before they release a storage solution, as it is most of the games I want to see on it will probably never get released. More storage doesn’t do much when you don’t have the games to store.
