Oh, snap!!! You mean, like the system we have today??!

That is precisely the ruling of the almost all of the States: the man is responsible for the upbringing of the child whether he wants it or not. A woman can chose to keep the child, then get the court to force the father to pay child support. AND she can ALSO decide that she doesn’t want the father involved in the life of the child.
I get so tired of the double standard of modern gender roles…a man is a deadbeat if he works three jobs and can’t manage to support his family, a loser if he gets laid off, a lazy fuck(or a pen-hecked wimp) if he is an unemployed dad. A woman is a victim if she gets pregnant, a “supermom” if she works ONE job, and if she is unemployed(stay-at-home mom) she is a altruistic saint.
What are guys supposed to think? There are such confusing mixed messages from the after math of the neo-feminist movement that no man really knows WHAT is expected of them… Those who look at what is supposedly expected by women(work all day, make lots of money but don’t be too material, be assertive but let me walk all over you, come home and take care of the kids, cook, clean, tell me your feelings, but rock my world as well) and refuse to accept it are considered misogynist cavemen. And those who refuse to accept the resultant backlash of what men expect other men to be(be a “player” read also: irresponsible sexual frivolousness, get drunk and act like buffoons watching football or playing Xbox Live, be aggressive even if it’s completely senseless, ignore or resent all personal responsibility, define your happiness by your wealth and appearance, remain as stoic as a rock) are considered pussies or fags.
It’s no wonder that this is where we stand today with the kind of reasoning being thrown around about the man’s responsibility and woman’s choice when it comes to an unwanted(by at least one party) child.
