"Or folks who advocate harsh economic policies or taxes on the public while the money can be spent on better projects."

Or people who deny conflicting data without examination. Or people who want major governments to spend billions of dollars based on what is, by and large, theory.

The climate has changed. The world is not a better place for us being here. Humanity needs to adapt or die. This is not up for debate. What IS up for debate is whether or not skeptics are just "denier’s" (protip: apostropes are not decoration) and whether or not we’re taking the right path. Is this truly a temporary cooling trend, ending with skyrocketing temperatures? Or by talking about moving millions of people to places like, say, Siberia and Saskatchewan, would we be dooming them to freeze to death when the glaciers start growing again?

Yeah, let’s ignore data from Aqua. Let’s ignore findings from paleoclimatology. Let’s ignore Michael Chrichton for unearthing bad science and scientists working to stamp out "scientific heresy" (I think of Planet of the Apes every time I see the word "denier") because he WASN’T a climatologist, but hail Al Gore as a frickin’ genius because he champions a cause…which will make him a great deal of money if he gets his way.

Take the blinders off, folks. There’s more than one sort of "denier."

Having said all this, I want my affordable mass transit, efficient train system, walkable towns, local food, green roof, overall less wasteful society, steady, sustainable human population, and so on. We won’t get there by congratulating Al Gore every 15 minutes for his brilliant Ponzi scheme.
