You’re right, they’re not. They are getting paid for their services.

First of all, if someone does that, it’s not because of my attitude, but rather because of their dreary lack of maturity and professionalism. Secondly, this is exactly why I rarely eat at restaurants.

Expecting professionalism is not a sign of disrespect. In fact, an unprofessional waiter is showing a high level of disrespect to his customers.
