Question 203:
“Which candidate had to quit a previous political campaign because they were found to have plagiarized a speech?”
Joe Biden did not plagiarize. He had specifically credited Kinnock on several occasions before and after the incidents of alleged plagiarism. So the wording “they were found to have” is misleading. The answer of Joe Biden is incorrect because Biden did not plagiarize the speech but used it with attribution.
Question 209:
“Which candidate said their policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket?”
Barack Obama did not say this, therefore this question is incorrect and skews the poll. What Barack Obama really said was that under a rigid cap and trade system: “I was the first to call for a 100% auction on the cap and trade system, which means that every unit of carbon or greenhouse gases emitted would be charged to the polluter…. So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted. That will also generate billions of dollars that we can invest in solar, wind, biodiesel and other alternative energy approach.”
Question 211:
“Which candidate started their political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground?”
The answer is none. Barack Obama started his career when he was hand picked by Alice Palmer for a special election. His career did not “begin” in the home of two former weather underground members. The question has no correct answer.
Two questions are patently wrong and a third is misleading to the point of error. These three questions invalidate the reliability of the data from the zogby poll. The poll was conducted well and in good faith by Zogby but the questions were poorly thought out, biased, and incorrect.
