Reasons I don’t buy movies anymore:
A. Dark Knight Blu-Ray - $25
B. New Monitor for PC to support HDCP - $200+
C. Blu-Ray drive for PC - $200
Total cost of ownership - $425
Why I Pirate:
A. Cost of downloading - $2.08 cents (Comcast 250G cap into the $64.99 internet service fee)
B. Can play it on my PC with my non-HDCP LCD
C. Can store it away in any format I like, can rar it up into 2 files to fit on 2 DVDs for archiving purposes if wanted. Can store it on my RAID central storage system and watch movies anywhere I put a PC in the house.
To me it’s an obvious no brainer.
