Referring to Firewire as betamax is actually a good analogy
Referring to Firewire as betamax is actually a good analogy. As Firewire is an industry standard for video editing among other things. With internal hard drives becoming standard on camcorders the 3200 didn’t come soon enough. The 1600 & 3200 use the 800 connector that is different than the 400. But all new formats are backwards compatible back to the 400 speeds. The 400 also isn’t hell to use like USB 1.0/1.1. I’m just glad I waited before buying a new Firewire 800 card for my PC since my mobo only supports the 400 standard.
