If you notice, the polite and proper protocol is to talk to said business about the issue. Work your way up the ladder. Sure you may get hung up on, yelled at, etc. but some business owners (like myself) try to do what we like to call CUSTOMER SERVICE. I won’t try to sugar coat it and kiss your ass however. If I was in the wrong like this cake is I’d take care of it.

The people that threaten to sue me or immediately report me to the BBB/CC company really lack character in my eyes and I usually have no problem going to court to make you feel like a jackass (if it is the case). I will make sure I take care of the problem on the grounds it is my fault and treat customers as I’d like to be treated. If however you are going to degrade me, insult me, etc then you will be treated with the same manners as you treat me.

Also, I just have an observation about the cakes. The first looks like a NYC $1000 wedding cake that is specially made whereas the second looks like Aunt Betty with Cerebal Palsey made it. If the cake picture in the first was in some sort of book by the baker that the bride went to then I can understand her frustration in the abomination that is her wedding cake. However, if she ripped some wedding cake photo out of some Wedding magazine or a Martha Stewart book and then brought it to some guy and told him taht’s the exact cake I’d expect to see that kind of shoddy work. Sometimes people know from experience how to make the cakes in the first one and get paid a pretty penny to do it. You can’t expect your average supermarket baker to make the first one.
