Sorry, religion doesn’t get a pass on this one. I’m not picking on Islam: I won’t give the Christians a pass, either. All religions are guilty of “cherry picking” their scriptures for the verses they do or don’t believe in for the convenience of the moment. Those who point at the culture are right about it being PART of the problem, but in this case the religion is still the weapon of choice. These misguided medieval screwhead belief systems mobilize ignorance,intolerance, and oppression of the vulnerable like nothing else on earth.
