Well, that’s assuming that machines would have the need to justify their existence. What if their purpose is just to be? Just because they’re AI doesn’t mean their AI is model after human intelligence. In all likelihood their AI was seeded by humans, but would develop from their own means, by learning, not completely programed by someone. One could argue they learned from us, but that’s another assumption. It’s very human to need some reason to exist, but whether that is nature or nurture is up in the air.
