Why are you picking on Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club? This is so common these days, it’s not even funny. Like Poland Spring’s new “eco-bottles” that are made with 30% less plastic. All we end up with is a crappier bottle that’s cheaper for Poland Spring to produce. Or how any company that recovers and reuses its waste claims that they are doing it to be “environmentally friendly”. It’s just cheaper for them. And if a byproduct is a lesser impact on the environment, that’s great. But the real problem lies with the consumer, not the producer.
